Sacred Bodywork Traditional Thai Massage Continuing Education Classes 

THAI YOGA MASSAGE PRACTITIONER INTENSIVE PROGRAM

 

The intense course is divided into four sections which are designed to be taken in sequential order, as the material progresses from the theoretical foundations of Thai Yoga Massage through increasingly complex advance movements and Thai healing protocols.

By completing all four levels, you will  have completed a total of 104 NCBTMB and Florida State Continuing Education hours of Professional Thai massage bodywork, including explanations, hands-on demonstrations, hands-on practice, and additional four free 11/2 hour Thai massage clinic sessions in supervised clinic setting.

Level I -   Thai Massage - Front Position  -  24 CE hours

Levels II - Thai Massage - Sitting, Side-lying, and Back Positions - 24 CE hours

Level III -  Advanced Thai Massage - Mastering all four positions and the five major Thai Treatment Protocols, Thai Massage on the Table, 32 CE hours  

Level IV - Thai Massage Spa Treatments - Customized training for the spa setting, including Thai Massage for the Table, Thai Herbal Compress Massage, Thai Facial Massage, Thai Detox Protocols, Thai Reflexology and other treatments, 24 NCBTMB and Florida CE hours

 

The materials covered in the four courses are detailed below:


  Levels I to IV Syllabus - Detailed -

 

Thai Massage - Front Position - Level I - Three Day Intensive Course

This 24 Continuing Education hours - Three day Introductory course provides a basic foundation for the traditional healing art of Thai Massage where students will learn body mechanics, the quality of touch, and how to incorporate movement and position into a healing practice. It will encourage the students to develop their understanding of Thai Massage on the front position and create enthusiasm for learning more.

 

 

 

Introduction to the background, history and theory of the Art of Traditional Thai massage, its development as part of Thai culture, and the energy lines system. Basic principles of movement, Pranayana breathing techniques, Thai touch techniques and basic Thai Yoga sequences for the front position.

Hands-on demonstration.

Hands- on Practice

Feet and energy lines, single leg work, & single leg stretch sequences 

 

  •  Day 2 - Double Leg Protocol

Double leg work, hands-on demonstration of opening and lengthening the spine, applying several Yoga-stretches working with both legs at once. Practice double leg work.

  •  Day 3

Upper Body/ Stomach,  Chest,  Neck, Face, Arms & Hands Massage, stomach, chest, shoulders and arms massage protocols, including pressure points, Thai Yoga stretches, and Sen energy work. Basic protocol sequences for the arms/wrist/hands.

Basic Thai facial massage protocols - Pre-facial, face and head massage techniques.

Thai Massage practice front position. Evaluation from the course tutor, with advice, cautions and recommendations for future learning.

Thai Massage Level II-Sitting, Side-Lying, Back Positions - Three Day Intensive Course

Upper body work; concentrate on upper shoulders, neck, occipital area, head pressure points, and energy lines; Thai work stretching techniques for the neck, 3 butterfly stretch sequences, butterfly spinal twist, and cat walk back stretching,

Thai Massage practice sitting protocol between students.

 

Side-Lying Position, practice working along the energy lines on the leg, plus Thai Yoga-stretches and spinal twists, arms and hand massage.

Thai Massage hands on practice side-lying position between students.

 

 

 

Feet work, pressure points along energy lines beside the spine, shoulder blade work, Thai yoga stretches/ practicing ankle, thigh. legs, hip and back stretches; kneeing, palming and thumbing the energy lines of the back.

Thai Massage practice of both side-lying and back protocols between students.

Final Practical Evaluation from the course tutor, with advice, cautions and recommendations for future learning.

 Advanced Thai Massage Practitioner- Level III - Four Day Intensive Course

This level consists of 32 Continuing Education additional hours to complete the 80 Certified Thai Massage Practitioner training program. It will introduce new Thai Yoga postures for all positions, advance touch techniques, and five major Thai healing protocols necessary to perform Thai massage,- applying most of the 108 techniques from the Northern Style Tradition- at the highest standards and professional level.

 

Thai massage students will take an in-depth look at:

 

Final Thai massage evaluation- 2 hour free form full body massage treatments in all positions

 

  • Final evaluation from the course tutors with advice, cautions and recommendations for future Thai Massage practice. Emphasis will be placed on meeting individual needs, correct body mechanics, safety considerations, energetic components, Thai treatment protocols, advance positions, and graceful transitions

  • Graduation

Program graduates from all different Thai massage levels will be encouraged to continue with one on one practice sessions with the instructors to further develop skill learned in class.

 

Special bonus for students taking Thai Massage Levels III and IV: 4 free 11/2 hour Supervised Thai Massage Clinics

 

Review and practice the complete protocol for the front position, give a 1 1/2 hours full body massage under supervision. Following the massage, the Thai student will receive detailed feedback from the course tutors. 

A chance to practice a 1 1/2 - hours full body treatment incorporating advance techniques from these two positions. Followed by detailed feedback from course tutors.

Review and practice of all materials, give a 1 1/2 - hours full body massage under supervision. Following the massage, the student will receive detailed feedback from the course tutors.  

 

Final Thai massage clinics evaluation from the course tutors, with advice, cautions and recommendations for future practice. Emphasis will be placed on meeting individual needs, correct body mechanics, safety considerations, fluidity and graceful transitions.
