What to Bring to Class
Bring an open mind & open heart.
Be prepared to learn, share/gain knowledge, have fun, give and receive massage & bodywork and enjoy!
Massage Students should bring to class the following items: Notepads, A journal, Pens, Highlighters,
Sacred objects for the temple altar and any tools for healing work; Musical instruments: drums, rattles, flutes, etc.
What to Wear
Thai massage clothing: wear comfortable and flexible clothing that does not restrict your movements and allows for sweat evaporation. Comfortable clothes that allow movement: Thai yoga clothing should leave space for maneuvers, as you'll move the body a lot while performing the postures or the Thai poses; bending, lifting, crawling on your hands and knees are the type of activities you can expect to be doing.
LomiLomi massage clothing: clothing that you don't mind getting oil on: shorts, t shirts, bathing suit, spandex, Hawaiian sarongs etc.
Thai and Hawaiian Lomilomi massage are practiced in bare feet, so slip on shoes would be most convenient.
For any of our lecture-only classes you need only to bring something to take notes with. All of our classes include materials
For Thai on the mat classes, we do have a number of Thai massage mats here for your use, but for larger groups we occasionally require some students to bring yoga mats. We will let you know when we acknowledge your registration if you need to bring yoga mat. Please bring your own sheets even if we don't need you to bring a yoga mat. Bring two hand towels
For table classes, we do have a number of massage tables here for your use, but for larger groups we occasionally require some students to bring tables. We will let you know when we acknowledge your registration if you need to bring a table. If you are taking a table class, please bring your own sheets even if we don't need you to bring a table. Bring two hand towels
For Facial/ Reflexology massage classes please bring two towels with you
For Hawaian Lomilomi, please bring a couple of towels and sarong
For Lomilomi Rituals, you need to be prepared to stand up nude for anointing rituals. One-piece bathing suit is good. No boxer shorts
For Hot/Cold Stone class, we will need for few people to bring their own warmers and hot rocks. If you are coming with a friend, one of you bringing it will be enough. We do have several stone sets here for classroom use. You may also bring a regular kitchen crock-pot instead of a big stone warmer if you choose
For Spa Protocols you will need to bring two large towels, preferably beach-size towels, two small hand towels and a couple of extra pairs of underwear; yours may get wet during the spa treatments
For outdoor Classes, protect yourself from sun burn. Wear a hat, sunscreen and sun glasses
What to Eat
It is best to practice Thai massage on an empty stomach. If you have a medical condition that requires you to eat before class then please just eat a light snack. During the day we provide light healthy snacks and teas.
For the all-day classes, bring a lunch or be prepared to go off site to eat. Also be sure to bring a water bottle.
What Not to Bring
