SACRED BODYWORK @ Daytona State College
Thai on the Table Class ~ March 27-28, 2010
Dear Alicia, Ann, Danielle, Heather B, Heather F, Heidi, Jim, John,
Lorlene, Marilyn, Mario, Olga, Pamela, Wendy, & Rick, you touched
our hearts and our souls! Grace & Gratitude to each of you.

“The moment I walked through the door I sensed that this was going
to be very special. The connection to our instructors was immediate
and very open, encouraging the same in me. Thai massage is more than
just another modality. It resonates at so many levels and I feel an
excitement to learn these ancient secrets of health and wellbeing.
My path has led me to this place where I can learn new tools to help
me to help others. I feel this experience has opened new doors and
revealed doors further ahead that will open to me. The connection I
felt spiritually throughout the day was and is so uplifting and
life-changing. I am excited to be able to pass on some of this to
those I will be working on.”
Ann

“Thai massage allows for the connection of the mind, body and spirit
of both the giver and the recipient, as well as for the connection
of the giver to the recipient. Both people are not only able to
unify the parts of themselves as individuals, but also they are able
to unify both of their whole beings into one person. Thai massage is
just as therapeutic for the practitioner as it is for the client.
Each session is unique to the connection of the two people involved
and can never be replicated. However, even though each experience is
unique, the common element of all Thai massage is the sharing of
love, healing and compassion between each person involved that leads
to profound therapeutic change beyond just the mechanical level.
Thai massage transcends the boundaries of physical tough alone; Thai
massage touches the heart. This kind of touch stays with you long
after the session ends; it follows you through all of your days.
My life has been inarguably been changed forever. I not only learned
some new mechanical techniques, but I also learned so much more that
that. I learned about the gifts that I posses and how to share them
with the world. It was truly an unforgettable experience.”
- Alicia

“Experiencing the rhythm of the movement/breathing of the Universe
flowing in and out of my body, my soul, exchanging with the body and
soul of the person I am working with. It is as much for me as it is
for them. It is touching. It is touching to the center of the heart.
It feels like one heart, that is the heart of the universe and both
of us are in it together. I love the feeling of helping the other
person to go to where they need or want to go to. The ultimate in
release body, mind, spirit, and it is shared. Thank you so much for
sharing yourselves with us.”
- Marilyn

“The spiritual aspect of massage. Learning what we are capable of
both as therapist & client, and the affirmation that massage can be
as spiritual an experience as I would like to be. I feel that you
are more able to really share yourself and your energy. It felt very
personal and living. It was strenuous, but in a good way. I can
definitely see myself pursuing more of an education in Thai massage
and using it in my future practice. I really liked the parallelism
that is share with Reiki as well. I found it to be welcoming because
of it. A wonderful experience…I had no knowledge prior to the class.
I ‘m looking forward to learning more & perfecting what was taught.
”
- Wendy

“Thai massage for me is being open to the person I am giving massage
to. It is also learning new techniques that will enhance my massage
therapy. As a receiver, I can now surrender myself to the person
giving massage. I feel like a heavy burden has been lifted today
from me, which makes me feel light and bright, as if I can just take
off and fly. I also now feel my light (energy) from the inside
emanating out as if now the closed door has been opened for me. I
wasn’t sure what to expect. I was really surprised how life changing
this has been. I am excited to be able to incorporate the new
techniques into my massage therapy.”
- Lorlene

“Thai massage for me is very interesting. I have never heard of it
before massage therapy class. I really enjoyed learning about Thai
massage and I enjoyed practicing it. I think the echo listening is
very interesting. I like everything that Thai massage has to offer.
It is very soothing and rewarding as both the giver and receiver.
Excellent, amazing, wonderful experience!
- Heather F

“Thai massage is connecting with recipient through a flow that
creates a trust and an experience that is as comforting for giver as
it is for the receiver.
Very spiritual and educational class, and will be able to use Thai
massage in my massage routine”
- John

“Thai massage for me is a more realistic way of feeling
compassionate for the recipient when I am giving the massage. So
far, Thai massage seems more efficient in trying to heal someone
because of the intimacy, patience, breathing and effortless work it
takes. Being the recipient made it easy to realize what a relaxing
type of bodywork this is. Being a believer in God who created the
universe and loves me so much, I see it as a gift from Him that he
has made apparent to me. I do believe God gives everyday people the
power to heal others and I plan on incorporating the amazing
experience of Thai massage into my everyday practice of massage.
Amazing class… It is a total new way of healing. It was an uplifting
experience filled with loving instructors and amazing exercises to
be able to use on clients for the future,”
- Danielle

“As I have never experienced Thai massage prior to today’s session
as a client, I was completely unaware of what to expect. I was
pleasantly surprised to find out that even though this type of
massage involves stretching, it is also very relaxing to the client.
As for me, as a giver of the massage, it was a calming experience
even though I was still trying to figure out specifics of body
mechanics and massage techniques. To summarize it in a short
sentence: I liked it!”
- Olga

“I enjoy the similarity of yoga to Thai massage. From the very
beginning of the tradition of honoring the Founder Doctor Shivago
and the opening mantra, which is very similar to paying respect to
Patanjali and the carriers of the tradition to our present day. The
best part of Thai massage is that it is as healing to the
practitioner as it is to the recipient. This is a lifelong pursuit
that I am happy to incorporate in with others which I practice. Om,
Shanti Shanti Shanti Om and Namaste.”
- Jim

“Imagine…that you are in a pool of water where there is no
pain…where your footsteps are the tracks through an enchanted
forest…where your eyes gaze upon a dancing flame…where light meets
serenity and balance meets tangibility…Imagine a guide…who leads you
there…who holds your hand, who caresses your soul, who acknowledges
your truest entity…This is the journey of Thai massage…[now] take my
hand and meet me there…If you are willing, I am ready.
A wonderful class, I left very embraced as an individual, as a soul
and as a small piece of this grand world… I feel as though I have
nearly learned as much in two days as I have in two semesters. I am
excited to keep on learning and journeying further into the art of
Thai massage.”
- Pamela

“What Thai massage is for me is the dance of balancing. Bringing
oneself into balance on a spiritual, energetic, emotional level as
well as the physical. This holds true for both receiving and giving
with the focus of being in the now. I felt today I was working on
not only a physical injury but some emotional holding as well-both
my injury and my spirit experienced some release.
Once again you have honored us with your experience and knowledge.
The energy that you create in the classroom, the emphasis placed on
the spiritual and energetic- and both of your abilities to convey
and demonstrate the material; I personally always feel energized yet
calm after your workshops and the experience renews my faith in the
profession I have been led to and love. Namaste.”
- Rick

“Thai massage to me is about fluidity and synchronized movements. To
find new ways to stretch and to completely surrender to the
therapist to help achieve your goal for your outcome. I have learned
how to effectively stretch and move the body without a lot of energy
and force and not being exhausted but relaxed after the massage.I
like that you can incorporate these movements into other areas of
massage as well. Thank you for this wonderful experience!!”
- Heather B

“Thai massage enhanced my view of how I can improve my technique or
modality as a massage therapist. I like what I experienced and how I
flow through the whole routine. I think I can incorporate some of
the Thai techniques into my routine. This Thai massage class gave me
an extensive and different approach to massage to massage
techniques. Thanks.”
- Mario

“Fabulous, an amazing experience that everyone should get to have. A
way to share stretching and yoga with people who may not be open to
it. A way to integrate information stored in the body into daily
life so it can be dealt with and embraced. A new and exciting
journey I am embarking upon that I will carry with me and use in my
daily life. A way to help me focus my energy and be clear about what
I’m trying to achieve and a new way to truly listen to what is going
on.
…Amazing class!! Special, unforgettable & priceless experience.”
- Heidi

" Excellent! Very educational, fun, loving, peaceful & spiritual. am so glad to be able to be with you this past weekend. This whole experience had more then the obvious purpose- learning Thai massage. It was so nice to spend a weekend surrounded by man who looked at me as spirit of human, not a woman. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
